Foxconn was very different than TSMC in AZ. I have problems with the fab but saying it is a failure is hopefully sarcasm. Common corporate tactic. Company pledges to invest billions in new this or that. Years later project is abandoned due to unforeseen delays.
Likely this, and those 100bln are a lot for the right people involved in the tremendous effort that will unfortunately fail, but you never know
I doubt Trump will be alive when those fabs come online. It takes years. In the meantime he’ll place tariffs on technology imports without having the alternative domestic production.
I’ve lived thru some of the madness for 15 years. You are totally right on the money. Orange fart face will be a stain in a box long before anything comes out of a fan anywhere. He’s got nothing to lose promising stuff though.
